- Kilimanjaro is 5,895m (19,341 ft) tall. As the highest point in Africa it's a dignified member of the Seven Summits.
- First ascent was done by Marangu army scout Yohanas Kinyala Lauwo, German Hans Meyer and Austrian Ludwig Purtscheller, on Oktober 6. 1889.
